Chris Herden and his wife Lyn are the founders of Upper Hunter Tennis & Sports. Chris is a Tennis Australia ‘Club Professional’ Qualified coach. Chris has over 30 years international and Australian coaching and playing experience. He has coached under former Australian Open champions and touring professional tennis players. He was a former NSW ranked junior (6 in NSW Under 17), USA college representative and graduate.
He is a current Tennis Australia Club Professional, registered Tennis Australia Hot Shots provider, Sporting Schools deliverer and current Head Coach, Scone Hardcourt Tennis Association, Scone, NSW.
Chris is very passionate about getting country kids involved in Tennis!
Upper Hunter Tennis and Sports offers Tennis Australia's official ANZ Kids Hot Shots program for toddlers and kids aged 3 - 18 years old. ANZ Kids Tennis Hot Shots is Tennis Australia’s official development program for children.
Each lesson takes place in a nurturing environment which promotes participation and inclusion. Lessons are for beginner to intermediate players and are run in small groups where kids are introduced to a sport they can play for life.
Lessons are in stages:

Kids 3-5 year olds (Blue Ball Stage - Launch Pad Program)

Kids 5-8 year olds (Red Ball Stage)

Kids 8 -10 year olds (Orange Ball Stage)

Green: 9-12 years (Green Ball Stage)

Players 11yrs + Yellow Ball

High Performance squads (Invitation only Ages 12 +)
There are various levels within each coloured stage. Upper Hunter Tennis & Sports coaches will determine when players are ready to move from one level to the next.
